The advertising industry is probably one of the most dynamic and vibrant. New technologies and approaches are almost emerging on a daily basis, especially advertising campaigns over the internet.
Last November 2007, Jay Nussbaum (Writer, Real Estate Lawyer, and Teacher) wrote and published a novel entitled: A Monk Jumped Over a Wall. The novel centers on a young attorney at a Manhattan law firm whose clients include a company that brutally forecloses on home mortgages. When he tries to help a family keep its home, he finds himself in trouble with his firm and is taken on a new path. The apparent subtext of the novel is about finding one’s true purpose in life. Incidentally Jay’s life’s purpose is writing and teaching others about finding these answers for themselves.
To date, this novel is gaining notoriety due to his unique marketing campaign to promote it –Nymphomercial. Sounds like kinky huh. A bit, maybe. However, it is no x-rated thing or any similar offensive materials. It is simply a sexy and unique way of promoting a product. Nymphomercial is a totally unique marketing concept for authors; Jay Nussbaum and a small team of friends dramatized an entire scene from the novel and posted it on YouTube. In the two months that the video and its three other versions have been circulating, it has been viewed almost 80,000 times. Amazing huh. That is effective advertising my friends! Check it out.
