The demand for nurses in the US and Canada continues to grow, while there seems to be a slump in the enrollment for nurses. What does this tells us? From an HR perspective, this means that if nothing seems to be happening in your present career, you might want to consider a career change to go for the ‘big greens’ or look for a greener pasture in the medical field.
The shortage for nurses, nursing aids, caregivers, and medical assistant will continue, as many young adult entering colleges prefer to pursue courses in IT or communications. This tells me that there is a great opportunity awaiting those who are willing to undergo comprehensive medical training and pursue a new career in the medical profession. Why not? If the green bucks is there. Note that the US economic slowdown is slowly spreading in Europe and now in Asia. We are hoping that there will be turn around before the election. On the other hand, the medical industry is relentless in its growth. This due to the prevailing consciousness among many to give health maintenance a highest priority in their spending.
